First Official Outing

Lucy went on her first official outing this weekend.  In the past we have taken our previous CCI pups in program to Borders for their first outing, but since Borders is no longer around (sad times), we decided to go to Old Navy instead.

Old Navy is great because I used to work there a few years ago and the management is super supportive of CCI.  Plus, it's where I used to get all of my fun holiday collars!  Zeeland, three dogs ago, would go to work with me several times a week and hang out while I did the shipment and/or cleaned the store in the mornings.  He and the store manager were BFF (she gave him carrots-so it was more bribery than anything else ;)).  So when Lucy, Shaun, and I went in, we introduced Lucy to the store manager and they quickly became good friends (no carrots this time though!).

Magic, The Old Navy Dog
Overall, Lucy seemed to have good time.  There's not anything too stressful at a clothing store (except when the item you want is in the wrong size or is expensive!), so she was a happy camper during our whole excursion.  She even got to practice sitting-nicely-while-being-petted with several kids.

Last Puppy Vet Visit

Lucy, Shaun, and I just got back from the vet.  Lucy had a great time getting lots of pets and attention from the staff.  She didn't even notice when they gave her the shots (it also helped that I had a few kibbles to distract her with!).  She did, however, have an ear infection.  No big surprise there since her left ear is ALWAYS filthy.  We've been cleaning it 2-3 times a week, but I guess she just needed some stronger stuff.  What is it with Labs and ear infections....?

Learning 'Tunnel'

Last night Shaun and I decided it would be fun to teach Lucy to go through the agility tunnel.  After only a few tries, she was doing it on her own (well, most of the time!).  All three videos are pretty much the same, but I thought I may as well upload them all.  Although you can obviously see that we are still working on taking the treat soft, not jumping, and so forth, she is definitely a smart and attentive little kid!

And just as a little addition, I thought I would post Cheri's 'tunnel' video. I think in her heart, Cheri always wanted to be an agility dog ;)  (Excuse the shakiness-I obviously filmed it myself.)

Lucy's Favorite Things...

...my grey boots.  I wore these the day we picked Luce up from the airport, and she has been in love with them ever since.  Every time I wear them she goes crazy and tries to lick them right off my feet!

Shopping with Cheri

While Lucy stays home in her kennel (only for one more week though!), we have a night out on the town with Cheri running errands at PetsMart.  We decided that it's about time that Cheri works for her kibble, so we made her push the cart ;)
