Thanksgiving Weekend

As all good holiday weekends should be, last weekend was a little hectic and family-filled.  And, of course, since Black Friday was part of last weekend, a lot of shopping was thrown into the mix as well!  Here are a few pictures from our escapades.

Wednesday Wildness

Lucy has experienced a lot of things this past week.  On Wednesday, the middle school went to Hillcrest High School to watch their annual musical.  This year they performed The Will Rogers Follies.

As luck would have it, my class and I got front row seats-and I mean, the very front row.  Because of this, Lucy actually got to see a lot of the show and had a lot of practice with her stays!  From the very beginning, there were "fun" things for Lucy to see such as rope tricks, huge feathery headresses, real live dogs doing tricks, and so forth.  There was this one particular scene where "cows" came to the very front of the stage and did a little sequence with their rope "tails."  They were banging, slapping, and spinning the ropes just a few feet above Lucy's head.  Of course Lucy thought those tails looked like a lot of fun and wanted to go on stage and join the action.  However, she was good and maintained her down. There were also several parts where the chorus came into the aisles to sing, dance, and further entice Lucy.  Again, she was a good girl and stayed.  About a third of the way through the show, I think her brain went on overload, so she just curled up and napped :)

Relaxing in the dark theater during the intermission.

The other good part about this outing was that she got to practice riding on a school bus.  It has been YEARS since I've been on a school bus and had completely forgotten how crowded, bumpy, and smelly they are!  Lucy has ridden on Trax and the FrontRunner before, but this was a whole new experience.  Despite my own hesitations, she hopped onto that bus and stayed in a down the whole time.

Riding on the big yellow bus (with very limited space!)

Later than night, Lucy and Shaun went to the Salt Lake airport for puppy class.  I wasn't able to make it, but Shaun reported that Lucy had fun, experienced a lot, and wanted to take a flight to Hawaii (okay, maybe that was Shaun, but still...).
